That makes ...Good to know about Pearl on the River. That makes at least four Sacramento restaurants that I know of that will prepare and serve wild game. (Simon's, Frank Fats, Grange, being the others).

All these restaurants collectively contribute to the unique cultural richness of the Sacramento area, a celebration, really, of Sacramento's geography and heritage as the heart of the Pacific Flyway and the rich waterfowling/hunting tradition that still thrives here, even if all of this exists mostly out of view of the cultural mainstream.

These restaurants play another important role in validating, celebrating and perpetuating the hunting tradition locally. They are wonderful settings to share the end result of a successful hunt with friends and family -- including those who are nonhunters and others, perhaps, who may have have had poor dining experiences with wild game in the past.

These restaurants expand our horizons by showing us new ways to prepare and enjoy our game and, by their careful, delicious and artful presentations, they pay supreme tribute to the lives of these wonderful eating gamebirds and animals. And they give us yet another opportunity to spend meaningful time with friends and family, which is one of the most significant benefits of hunting and fishing, in my opinion.sportingdayshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01871216533973980940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643961435804058616.post-51598959549636180122009-11-30T08:57:35.586-08:002009-11-30T08:57:35.586-08:00looks like great stuff. hope you can find the time...looks like great stuff. hope you can find the time to put up more food posts, as this one was very interesting. The Buffalo Digesthttp://www.thebuffalodigest.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1643961435804058616.post-14720599199838139492009-11-30T07:43:34.399-08:002009-11-30T07:43:34.399-08:00WOW, what a birthday dinner to remember.
